Atlanta, GA
Atlanta is known as the home of Coca Cola, Home Depot, and the Georgia Aquarium; the world's largest! It's known as the birthplace of Jimmy Carter, Martin Luther King, and Margaret Mitchell. Atlanta has also been the birthplace of some of America's world-class jazz musicians and jazz composers that have taken their talents from their birthplace in Atlanta to all points of the world; but not without leaving their legacy behind.

In 1977 the Atlanta Bureau of Cultural Affairs introduced Atlanta Free Jazz Festival. Twenty five years later being brought to you by the Office of Cultural Affairs, under the Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Atlanta and now known as Atlanta Jazz Festival; it kicks off in May and culminates Memorial Day Weekend.

The festival just like jazz is a living breathing things of its own. It is an annual musical showcase celebrating jazz legends, and up-and-coming jazz greats in venues throughout metro Atlanta during the entire month of May, culminating Memorial Day Weekend; the festival features show-stopping performances at Piedmont Park.

The festival continues to live up to its mission to expose and entertain a diverse audience of Jazz aficionados, young Jazz enthusiasts and aspiring musicians to the rich heritage and variety of Jazz as an authentic form of music.

Throughout the park you will find plenty of art displays, youth competitions, jazz workshops, food galore, and plenty of Jazz. See you at the Park!
