The hotel's signature restaurant is Southern Elements. Located to the left of the hotel's main entrance, Southern Elements serves southern cuisine with a twist. I had the opportunity to experience the breakfast buffet during my stay and it was one of the best I'd ever had. Fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy were a just a few of the variety of items available during the breakfast buffet. In the evening, the bar has an extensive drink menu and large HDTVs for guest's viewing pleasure as well. It proved to be the social spot in the evening especially since it's so close to the hotel entrance.
Hilton Atlanta also has a café called Marketplace. After experiencing my long flight, I was anxious to just grab something to eat and get back to my room. Marketplace proved to be my oasis since I was able to pick up a turkey Panini sandwich, a peach tea and a bowl of fruit.
After getting my key and going to my room, I was pleasantly surprised. My room was immaculately decorated in shades of cranberry and chocolate. The television was a 36” HDTV and the desk had a granite countertop and ergonomic chair. The bathroom also featured granite countertops and the bowed shower rod provided extra room in the shower. The signature Hilton Serenity bed was comfortable and as soon as my head hit the pillow, I was in a deep and peaceful slumber.
In the morning I was able to get a quick workout in by visiting their fitness center. With state-of-the-art cardio equipment and televisions on each treadmill, I truly enjoyed the facility. It overlooks the outdoor pool and tennis court.
After my workout I was able to enjoy breakfast and lunch at Southern Elements and dinner in Trader Vic's. Trader Vic's is located in the lower level of the hotel and is known for its Pan Asian cuisine cooked to perfection in Chinese ovens. The short ribs were tender and the signature Mai Tai from the bar was divine.
Overall, my leisure experience at the hotel was a nice getaway in the city. Within blocks from the most popular attractions, Hilton Atlanta is a hotel I highly recommend to any leisure travel looking for a getaway.
