A business trip brought me to the Georgia International Convention Center located adjacent to Atlanta's Jackson-Hartsfield International Airport. I knew I wanted to stay in the airport area so I wouldn't have to worry about an early morning commute, and when thinking about selecting an airport hotel to stay at, I couldn’t help but think back to past ‘DP’ experiences. Suddenly I remembered all the smiling faces at the Marriott Atlanta Airport Hotel, so that was my choice.
On arrival to Atlanta their shuttle bus was conveniently located and I was at the hotel in less than 15 minutes from the time I walked off the jet way.
The front desk staff was just as I remembered; smiling, welcoming and extending their infamous southern hospitality. Time to unpack and settle in since this will be my home for the next 4 days. As I always do, I head straight to the window, open the curtains and check out the view. Lush landscaping surrounds the hotel and I take in the beautiful view of aircraft taking off and landing in this totally soundproof, 8th floor room (a dream for any aircraft buff). My room is large, very well appointed (as are all Marriott’s) and I really appreciate the large desk and work area close to the window that has a plug-in connectivity panel. You can really get wired!
With quick access to MARTA I fully intended to go in the city but never made it. Starbucks just off the lobby or Allie's American Grille or Bentley's Steak House, pure deliciousness! Sushi Master, the lobby bar, is a popular meeting place not to mention the best sushi and sashimi in the south!
There’s also a fitness center with state-of-the-art cardio equipment overlooking the pool, to work off all those wonderful meals! Located next to the pool is a beautiful outdoor patio, complete with a fireplace-lending itself to a warm and inviting atmosphere for a cocktail and a conversation.
A truly enjoyable stay!
