Uncle Ernie's is perfectly nestled in Historic St. Andrews on the bay. They have done a great job with their additions and the bar on the top deck. They have micro-brews on draft and the martinis are yummy. I like ordering the Portobello mushroom sandwich and whatever the secret is to their salad dressing - it's yummy too. Great food! Great view!

Everything was wonderful. The olive oil and spices blend for dipping their wonderful bread was the best I've had. That and a salad could make a meal. The calamari was excellent as was the sesame encrusted tuna. This one's a keeper!

Homemade desserts & Homemade Beer... What's Not To Like?, 2009-06-26

Uncle Ernie’s is one of the restaurants I like to introduce people to. Mostly so upon arrival I can tell people what to order. This way I can get a taste of all my favorites without having to choose between them. First, Uncle Ernie’s serves you a variety of homemade breads accompanied by their house blend of olive oil and spices for dipping. It will be hard to control your self but don’t fill up here because everything on the menu is just as tasty. Some of my favorites are the Sesame Crusted Tuna served with Thai Slaw, Grouper Pigneri with Shrimp, Insalata Roma with fresh mozzarella and chicken (this Salad is big enough for two) and the Coconut Pecan Shrimp with Honey Mustard. To wash it all down I like Miss Jessie’s Light Blue Brew a blueberry enhanced light-bodied ale. All of Uncle Ernie’s homemade beers are refreshing and unique but if you are having a tough time deciding opt for the Beer Sampler for $8.99, then you’ll be sure to find a favorite.

My favorite in Panama City, 2008-04-28

We have a vacation home in Panama City and dine out there a lot.Overall, Uncle Ernie's is my favorite restaurant. The food is great and something besides the usual "fried seafood platter" cuisine and we've always had excellent service. Try the Insalata Roma instead of the house salad. It easily serves two and can be combined with one of the appetizers, like crabcakes for a complete meal. I also recommend any of the pasta dishes, the steak topped with any of their sauces or crabmeat. All of the grilled fish are excellent too. The Key Lime pie is homemade and the best I've ever eaten. Ask for an outside table, it's worth the wait, especially if you get there in time for sunset.

Over the past decade, I've been to Uncle Ernie's for lunch many times and have always been more than satisfied. Doni's Chicken Caesar Rollup and the House Salad are menu highlights, and the daily specials are often pricey, but always delectable. The dockside view of St. Andrews Bay is worth the trip, especially if dolphins are active by the docks, as they have been on several of my trips.

I own a boat and there are a few restaurants that I haunt (Moe's, Boathouse, and Ernie’s) in which I can dock the boat, come in as I am and have a good meal. Of those I like Ernie’s the best. The food is very good; when it's available I really love the fried soft shell crab sandwich. The iced tea was enjoyably sweet (if you like sweet iced tea most places skimp on the sugar), and the key lime pie is decadent. I eat at Ernie's probably 10 times a year, every time from off my boat, come as you are, great service, great food, all that is left is great company and you!

I love this place for a great lunch or dinner overlooking the water. There's not a bad seat in the house, and when you're on the deck, honestly it feels like you're on top of the water. The menu seems to be the same for both dinner and lunch with a variety of sandwiches and entrés. We tried the daily special which was a piece of grilled fish with a broiled crabcake on top. It was to die for! I've also tried a couple of their sandwiches in the past, and have never been dissapointed. Some of the menu items can get pricy, but if you take a look at the whole menu, I'd bet you could find something you like. Service gets a thumbs up from me as well...prompt greeting at the door and great followup during the meal, without being too overbearing. Really wish they had a website with their menu on it...

Had lunch with friends... my wife tried the grilled chicken open face sandwich. It was wonderful, extremely filling. The salads were full of fresh greens and veggies. The salad dressings are excellent. While you are there be sure to try the homemade brews. We sampled a couple and was partial to the Beach Blond. While the food is why you go, you'll be sure to enjoy the view of St. Andrew Bay. By the way, it's a great place to hang out after work and watch the sunset. Go to the upstairs deck and prepare to relax!

We ate there in 2006 and it was execellent. In January 2007 we ate there again and although the food was delicious, the service wasn't great. We were hustled along...complete order taken immediately, lunch delivered before soup/salad was finished and cheque there before we were finished. We were not impressed.
