Most Incredible Seafood Experience Ever, 2009-07-16

I just visited GW Fins and I can't stop telling all of my friends about the incredible experience I had here. Everything was perfection ... the food, the wine list and the service. My waiter pointed me to some dishes I probably wouldn't have tried ... and it was as if he knew exactly what I liked. Each dish was incredible ... and each of the 5 other people I was dining with felt the same. This is now my favorite New Orleans restaurant.

G.W.'s has fallen from one our top rated N.O.'s restaurants and become a real disappointment in regards to service. The wait staff started out well for my husband's birthday celebration. However, after receiving our entrees we were literally abandoned for a long period of time. In addition, the waitress insisted that we had to order a dessert for my husband, when I had confirmed when making the reservation that some small dessert with a candle would definitely be delivered to the table. However, when I e-mailed G.W's about the disappointing experience they didn't even have the courtesy to respond! Sorry to say, but G.W.'s made it clear that they could care less about their customers. There is just too much competition in wonderful N.O. to waste time at G.W.'s.

If you want to have a perfect experience and impress your date or your spouse, just take a walk with them through the French Quarter and take the time to stroll up or down Royal street. Now before you leave the hotel, make sure you're dressed properly for dinner so that you can find your way to G W Finns before you return to your hotel. You will find award winning cocktails at the bar, and once you get a seat (make a reservation) you will not want to leave. The food is to die for. I can't say it any better than that.

The seafood king of New Orleans, every detail is perfect, the food is amazing, the wines are non stop, the service impecable! If you are into seafood, this is the place to be!!

There are only a few restaurants in the French Quarter that maintain the level of excellence we expect from New Orleans - so many of the others are located on the fringe - or uptown, but GW Fins is one of the very very very BEST restaurants in the city, and they prove it to us everytime we go! Awesome.... awesome... awesome. (I think one of the main reasons is the 'hardest working guy in the seafood biz' is always on the floor). If you love seafood... do NOT miss this restaurant!
