I love the similarities between Key West and New Orleans. They are definitely very close siblings. Tujague's bar is so much like the best watering holes in Key West–––where the millionaire sits next to the starving artist and you can't tell the difference, and where bearded fellows with stories coming out of their ears can be counted on to show up every day for the same drink. But the difference is, Key West bars do not have cuisine like this: cuisine with a story, with heart and soul and lots of flavor. Tujague's restaurant serves food workers a hundred years ago ate after a full day's hard labor, for lunch. It's honest, filling, flavorful, rooted in French working fare. Make sure to look for the picture of the "Victorian lady" in the dining room right behind the bar. She was, reportedly, actually a man. See, Key West and New Orleans have lots in common!

my wife and I had a wonderful dining experience at Tujaque's. The service was very good and the food was even better. A very old and historic place. They serve multiple courses, so come hungry. Good Value too!

Tujague's was very cool. I thknk it's the oldest restaurant in the quarter... maybe even all of nola. The food was amazing and the service was better than average. Lots of cool historical memoribilia all over. The only thing I didn't like was that they really squeezed n a bunch of tables and you sit too close to your neighbors. But it was still nice...
