To begin with you have to take a boat out to the restaurant which pretty much puts you in the perfect mood for the rest of the meal. You cruise the beautiful coast of the keys over to Sunset Key where they welcome you at the dock, walk you to the beachfront restaurant and you simply sit down in amazement. I could talk about how incredible the food is, but the setting overshadows all the other positives about this unique dining experience. The beach, the sunset, the beauty....and of course world class service. Can you tell I LOVED everything about it. If you want that special meal to top off a perfect vacation - this is it!

I must say, this is one of the most beautiful restaurants I've been to in a long, long time. It's truly on an island. My friends and I made lunch reservations and took the ferry over. Note- you must make a reservation in order to be allowed to board on the ferry. The concierge at the Westin can help you. The Ferry leaves in back of the hotel...It's only a 4 minute ferry ride to paradise. The food was wonderful. The menu is more "islandy" but since we were out late the night before, I had the hamburger. WOW! It was more like a gourmet, steakburger. My friends had the grilled fish sandwich that was very tasty and fresh. We peeked at the dinner menu which was very impressive. The food was wonderful & the atmosphere was breathtaking. Being surrounded by the most beautiful, crystal blue water and feeling the tropical breezes is truly paradise! Put this on your "A" List.

Key West is so much fun and so energetic, of course, but when you head out to Sunset Key and Latitudes, you get that softer, gentler side of the Keys. It really IS this peaceful natural place with wide open views and birds and even the occasioal dophin arching out of the water. THIS is what you meant when you wanted an island escape. Chef Dominique Falkner is also so talented, and really serves the flavors deserving of the setting. Try his fresh seafood towers, his crab cake...whatever he recommends, that's probably what's best that day. This place is a wonder, you'll be so glad you stepped on that boat...

We live in Key West most of the year, and this is one restaurant I always recommend to friends who visit... not only is it delicious, it is a bit of an adventure. The ferry to Sunset Key leaves on a regular schedule, and it's just a beautiful way to get a sense of what life in the islands is all about. Grab a waterfront table and enjoy!
