I'd like to add my voice to the chorus of those telling you to get the redfish at Bourbon House! You'll definitely want to add the crab meat too. Also, it's really nice to see a restaurant on Bourbon Street that doesn't allow hats for male patrons! It's about time!

A couple people recommended Bourbon House and the Redfish on a Halfshell recently, so I had to try it when I was in NOLA for Voodoo Fest/Halloween. It was even better than they described! One of the best dishes I've had anywhere! A friend that was with me is the GM of a Top 50 Florida restaurant and he was equally impressed with the Redfish! They've also got great desserts and appetizers... and the largest selection of Bourbon I've ever seen! Great place to enjoy a traditional New Orleans meal. Even got to see a wedding procession/parade go down the street while we were eating lunch. Only in New Orleans!! This place is highly recommended!

I've been visiting N.O. at least twice a year for the past 15 years and the Redfish on the halfshell is now on my list of must do's. I'm not a bourbon fan but make sure you try the bourbon milk punch and the chocolate chunk bread pudding. They also boast one of the largest bourbon selections in the south.

The thing about Bourbon House is, they own you after one visit. Next time you're around, you will hear it beckoning, you will find yourself arranging your plans around when you can go, and comparing everything, from the seafood tower, to baked or raw oysters to the redfish with the crabmeat that is simply beyond spectacular. Nowhere quite measures up to what Bourbon House does well. This restaurant is so smart and tight with what it does: impermeably perfect. I love it, and the location couldn't be better. They own me when I'm in town, and it's ok, I surrender.

Nowhere else can you find such a sophisticated place with the comfort of a friend's home and the staff to reinforce the fact that you feel welcome. There is nothing better than sitting in a restaurant where the oyster shucker becomes your friend, and the food is to die for. The redfish on the halfshell is the most remarkable thing I've evern put in my mouth. I love fish, and I love a good piece of grouper being a Floridian from the Gulf Coast, but once you get a taste of Bourbon House's redfish, you won't ever be satisfied with just any fish again...unless it is grouper...but I digress. If you're ever close to New Orleans and you need to take a break or if you're already in New Orlens and make a deliberate stop by Bourbon House and have a few oysters at the oyster bar while you wait on your table or you can just stay at the bar and dine on redfish on the halfshell with some of that fresh hot bread.
