Chef Imondi's Cafe and Bakery, 2007-08-23

Great location, excellent ambiance, great service, and killer food make this cafe a classic. The signature She Crab soup is amazing; it even comes in a bread bowl. The best word to describe it is rich and excessive. Quite possibly the best four bucks spent in the place, but it doesn't end there. There is background live piano, and an upbeat friendly atmosphere. The lunch sandwiches are given smart names like, The Executive, The Policeman, and my favorite The Doctor; a seasoned grouper sandwich that will make your mouth water. For such a great eating experience it will not break your bank as the lunch sandwich plates are reasonably priced at about seven dollars each. Being from New Orleans I had to try the Muffaletta and it was great. Attached to the cafe is a bakery and just about every opulent variety of naughty sweetness can be found. Again all reasonably priced. I have to say the bake chefs are every bit as good as the cafe. Overall you will be very pleased and will not leave broke.

Meet my wife from time to time at Chef Imondi's for lunch. They have great sandwiches and soups, super bread. But I get the smallest lunch I can because I want a piece of cake! Wait till you get a look at their pastry section. It's huge, it's good, it's sweet... I could stay there forever... Go to Chef Imondi's and have whatever suits you but make sure you leave room for the important stuff. Try it!

Had lunch here one busy afternoon recently and I had one of the best sandwiches I've ever tasted. Loaded with chicken, different kinds of peppers, a tasty suace all on fresh bread. Great salad to go with it. Highly recommended! 7 out of 10 stars.
