I was born and raised in Panama City, and Hunt's is a part of our local culture. We love it and respect it, enjoy it and go as often as we can, but I do think it's important to remember that Capt's Table... right next door is also a GREAT Oyster Bar with a long history and heritage. It's cool that two of the best oyster bars in the state are right next door... do a dozen at one... and and dozen at the other! Fun and original and gives you a real flavor of real local oyster lovin

This was our 2nd trip to Hunt's and it did not disappoint. We sat at the bar & my hubby had a dozen raw oysters, which actually ended up being 15 or 16, we lost count. Then he had a dozen(13)baked & I had the grilled tuna sandwich with fried okra. Awesome!Great prices on beer & wine. Definitely worth the wait!

A Hole in the Wall You Can't Afford to Miss!!, 2009-06-24

Hunt’s is a hole in the wall to say the least. But what says the most about this place is the wait. Though you may not have to wait too long in comparison to other seafood places in the area, most people would tell you they’d wait as long as they had to in order to place an order at Hunt’s. I’ve had many different items on the menu and have yet to find something I don’t like. Even the music playing on the jukebox is great- though I was a bit surprised to hear such a variety -with its down home feel the last thing I expected to hear was Michael Jackson’s “Who’s Bad” but the crowd here is so much fun I heard people of all ages singing along. Other than the food, music and friendly staff the prices at Hunt’s are unbeatable- so don’t leave Panama City without stopping to refuel here at least once.

We where in Panama City Beach from 8-25-thur 9-5.WE LOVE HUNTS.Oysters any way you want them.Out of 6 of us i'm only that does not eat oyster, but I do LOVE SHIMP.They get theme raw,and three chesse baked. My brother inlaw allways gets the grouper sandwich, and loves it,and so did the others. For me its shimp any way,but the grilled shimp is the best. The fried shimp had no taste to them.My hubby likes cajuin boiled shimp with eye balls, and all. They are something to see.We found out about last year Hunt's from a waitress at Hammerhead's Freds.Last year we eat there 4 times. This year we eat there 2 times, before we rented a pantoon boat both times, but thats another story.LOL

I have been eating weekly at Hunt's for over 10 years for good reason; the food is amazing. Primarily an oyster bar (standard raw, steamed or baked) serving the finest Apalachicola oyster, Hunt' also excels at seafood of all types, and even classic favorites like chicken fingers are served with a flair. Every time I come though I must have the gator tail appetizer. Perfectly seasoned, expertly prepared, it is tender and flavorful. I then follow is up with a light fried oyster poboy, washed down with copious amounts of Landshark beer. A great raw bar, awesome food, killer prices, and friendly staff make this a "can't go wrong" choice.
