Love Dusty's!, 2011-10-31

Dusty's is a true good ol' oyster bar and has a staff that is good at entertaining. It's small, quaint and amazing how effecient they run the place, because most of the time, they're packed! In addition to fresh cold Aplachicola oysters, you have to order their homemade onion rings and fried green tomatoes with some of the coldest beer on the beach. You'll leave with very satisfied and laughing from all the warm and funny people there.

A unique but somewhat uncomfortable experience, 2008-04-18

It's hard not to notice, when driving up and down Front Beach Road, that the parking lot at Dusty's is always jam-packed with cars and motorcycles. I stopped in one evening to try some oysters and whatnot, and I found a very unique local crowd and an extremely saucy waitstaff. For what it's worth, the food and drinks are a tad pricey for the setting, and my waitress bordered on obnoxious after a few minutes (even chiding me loudly and repeatedly for teetotaling upon my ordering water). Still, it's a local hangout that offers a unique experience, but don't go if you're not in the mood for good-natured staff banter and $6 beers.

My family just came home from the beach and we are so glad to have found Dusty's, the first day we went in around noon on mon. and had a great meal burgers, wings and fried shrimp that was terrific, the service was great and the place was fun and laid back I beleive the only reason you wouldnt like this place is if you were a stiff. We went back 5 more times during our vacation and we will be going back years to come it was just the type of place you want to find on vacation!

oysters, 2007-08-15

I have just come from Dusty's, 8-15-07..1:00PM. we had 2 dozen of the smallest, driest oysters that I have ever had. 3 Coors lights, 2 dozen oyster = $23.08 before tip. Yesterday, I ate at Hunt's. I had 2 dozen oysters, 3 Bud bottles, and the bill was $16.13 before tip. And at Hunt's the oysters were large, juicy, and shucked before your eyes. At Dusty's the shucker pulled 2 trays of previously shucked oysters from the stand-up refrigerator behind the bar, and served them to us. Hunt's was jammed and Dusty's had 6 total guests. People vote with their feet and choose not to frequent the rip off joints. I will not be back.

Go for the party. Drinks, oysters, wings are good... the rest of the food is just okay. More of a drinking place than dining. Great view of the lake.
