This place is right around the corner from our office, so I've been a few times. Great coffee - much better than the chains. Great eats, too.... my favorites are the chocolate macaroons and the chocolate croissant! YUM! Perfect for breakfast or afternoon snack.

ONe of the things I treasure about this city is how it defends to the core the independent coffeehouse. What a loss when big chains move in and kill these little neighborhood places in other cities, BOOOOO!!!! But not in Nola: people here know you need places with character and service, and a European flair. La Boucherie is all that. The coffee is hand made, lovingly roasted and ground and brewed. The teas are excellent. They do soy lattes, my favorite! Strong! And free wireless, and great peoplewatching. I go here every day when I'm in town. Oh, and the croissants are fantastic.

Europe in New Orleans, 2007-07-05

I travel to Europe at least once a year and one of my favorite things are the little cafes. They are so quaint and have great food. I was tickled when La Boucherie opened in the French Quarter. It was just like I was in France, England or Germany (but they spoke English) The coffees and teas are all high end, no lipton tea here! The sandwiches are made to order, and the wrap are lightly grilled. It's a perfect stop in the morning to get your day started or a light lunch or an afternoon snack. Last week I had a blueberry pastry that was out of this world! And if you are a picky coffee drinker, forget Starbuck, this place knows how to make a coffee drink right! Heck they will even put a shot of liquor in it :) Great for all ages, and if you are on a tight budget. My favorite is the Spinach Wrap and the Conti Club- oh oh so good! Did I mention they also have free wireless? great place to meet!
