This pub is as Irish as Patty Murphy's Pig. Been to the old country visiting my family several times and my cousin runs a bar in County Cork just like this. Great Historic old building and the bartenders are ENTERTAINING! Local loyalty abounds with this pub. It's off the beaten path of Duval on James St and Grinnell. Even better! I see before were somebody wasn't bowled over by the food. I heard they have made some changes since them but I have to admit. I don't hang out at Finnegans for the vegetarian menu. It's all about the music,Irish Whiskey or grabbing a cold pint heaven for me after a day on the water.

Terrible service (new young waitress that cared more about her friends sitting on a table close by) and food not coming out with all items stated on the menu. My boyfriend and I, since the beginning of March when I relocated to Key West ate at Finnegans Wake on every Wednesdays to take advantage of their vegetarian menu. First incident was when he ordered and "All Natural" and it was made without explaining that they were out of avacados and I'm guessing that the kitchen was hoping that we wouldn't notice the missing ingredient. Second incident explains it all in the first paragraph. Ordered a light cheese and crackers option from the menu to get a dozen white cheddar triangle slices on a plate, with a little bit of raw onions cut, NO mustard dip (that the menu stated came along with it) and a basket of individually wrapped ritz/saltine style crackers. Really, those keep crackers. Not the nice round table crackers. Come on. When we sent the plate back and we totalled out our bill. We got, NO sorry that you weren't please, NO bye, No nothing. So at that the young new waitress didn't get a tip. I'm a prior waitress of 3 years and that is the worse service ever.
