I know this is a great restaurant but I was just in Key West for just over a week and could never get a reservation; granted, there were 5 of us and we aren't the best at planning ahead but we could not get a reservation that wasn't earlier than 9:30 and that's just too late (for me) to begin a BIG dinner. We called 2 days in advance and on the day several times...but no luck. Darn! We were really disappointed but it IS season and Cafe Marquea is not the largest restaurant but it IS one of the more popular ones. Soooooo, I'm writing to those of you out there who may be planning on a trip soon to key West and this is your "heads up" to make getting a reservation at Cafe Marquesa a priority and don't be like us...you must plan ahead or like us you will miss out on a great thing. We all promise to do better next time and get our acts together well in advance and make a reservation the same day we make hotel and plane reservations to Key West. This mistake will not happen again-and the moral of the story is "don't let it happen to you!"

This has to be one of the most charming restaurant in the Keys. You would never believe Duval Street is close by. It looks like a beautiful, old restored home. It is a lovely place for a dinner date, girls night out or because you deserve a nice evening out. My friends and I enjoy the bistro atmosphere. The restaurants is truly ONE OF THE BEST in the Keys. The food here is what you would find in New York, San Francisco or New Orleans. It holds one of the highest ratings in Zagat's. Personally, I love the scallops. Perfectly seared. For dinner, the duck breast is amazing! I always want to try something different, but because it's so delicious and not many restaurants serve duck in the Keys, I always order it...and glad each time. Three of us shared the chef's special chocolate dessert....OH MY!!!

A few blocks off Duval on Simonton is a wonderful restaurant, Cafe Marquesa! I have just returned from several days in Key West for my daughter's wedding. This was a delightful evening upon our arrival! The food and service is outstanding and the Marquesa Martini was a hit! We so enjoyed the atmosphere and the management and staff were delightful and well trained! Make sure you include this neat restaurant for a very wonderful evening!!!
