I've been eating out for 57 years, waited tables in 5-star restaurants for 9 years, and owned 2 restaurants myself. I've taught gourmet cooking classes, and pubished a cookbook. I'm not easily impressed, yet everything about this meal was much better than my lofty expectations. The atmosphere was modern-elegant, the food and service were better than my own, and the bill was half of what I expected. Don't miss this one. If you plan one super meal on your trip, this is it!

Ruth's Chris is lucky to have this location, because Destin's Ruth's Chris is by far one of the nicest of them all. The "cascading" wine room at the entrance is remarkable–––it has the impact of a stunning sculpture, but it's a working, functioning wine room! You can reserve the table inside it and be in a crystal palace of wine. There's a pretty outdoor patio, and the indoor room is absolute elegance in a word. When it comes to investing in the best meat money can buy, you can't go wrong here: they get the very best, and they sear it so hot, you can still hear it cooking (the sizzle, they call it) when it comes to your table. What else is very Destin? Warm, friendly, beach-town service. You can joke around with the staff, even as they're professionally managing every beat of your meal. Check it out, this is a great, Destin steakhouse.
