This is an Irish bar, owned by the Markey family, and it's been here since 1947. It's a local bar, but ther tourists are tolerated with friendly banter. Real working man's (and woman's bar) with a maniacal group of dart fans and GREAT cold Guiness!

Remember Cheers? This is the bar in New Orleans where you can walk into and everyone will know your name by the time you leave. Cheap drinks, great shuffle board and super juke box. For a great New Orleans bar outside of the French Quarter, you don't get any better than this Irish dive bar!

Yes, Rachael... I know you love Marky's, and I agree it is a ONE of a kind sorta spot, BUT here's the most important question (perhaps we should move this to the forum?).... who is QUEEN of shuffleboard at Marky's these days????
