I love this local restaurant. It always has a great ambience with people dining and having a good time. Very casual, ice cold oysters and cold beer! The wait staff is fun and the owner, J. Michael is a character. You'll want him to come to your table and chat with you - he's always entertaining. Great place and perfect for the family or a night out with friends.

J. Michael’s is a great place to get authentic Cajun. The red beans and rice is wonderful and at just under $6 making it one of the tastiest and cheapest meals around. Be careful not to fill up on bread- J.Michael’s uses a lot of butter on their toasted bread making it hard to stop after just one piece. But, if you do eat too many they have a great Greek salad with homemade dressing feta, pickled okra, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, mozzarella and call be topped with grilled chicken, fish or shrimp.

J Michael's has fantastic Jambalaya and an awesome open-faced roast beef sandwich. Daily lunch specials are always packed, so go early. Jambalaya on Thursdays!

This message was/is highly rated on this site and that is why we chose to dine there tonight. Well, it was truly a disappoint and a total waste of $55 for three of us. The Grouper special was not so special! It was boasted as 'fresh', but it was very fishy. The garlic potatoes were swimming in grease! There was no 'ambiance' as was written in a previous review. We will have to say that the service was good and our server seemed eager to please, but our meal was a big disappointment. We did not clean our plates. We made a quick run to Bruster's for an ice cream treat to finish out our evening as tourists in the area!

Has a large menu, but try the J. Michael's Shrimp for a spicy treat that can't be beat. If you get the recipe out of Mike I will pay you for it. No kidding. John Nelson
