Acme Oyster House, 2005-05-30

I have been goign to destin since 1979. I can safely say that Acme Oyster House is definitely one of the worst restaurants I have come across since then. I am assuming that they are exisitng soley on the reputation of their main restuarant in New Orleans. I ordered the grilled grouper sandwich. I have no idea what fish they used, but it was about 1/8 of an inch thick, dry, and VERY rubbery. If you are looking for a great fish sandwich, try the Red Bar in Grayton, AJ's in Destin, or Harbor Docks. Acme Oyster House.....Waste of Time, Waste of Money.

This place is great... esp. if you're staying at Sandsetin Resort! Even if you're not, it's worth the visit. Several places to eat and several bars to visit afterward. Favorites are Poppy's Seafood, Acme Oyster House, The Famous Door, and the ice cream place! Sandestin did a great job with their whole resort... and the village is no exception!

Excellent Places to Eat, Party and Shop! During the summer, they even have a movie screen set up outdoors for the kids to watch while the adults can shop and dine inside.
