Perhaps the best way to experience Shell Island is by boat. If you are not a boat owner, you can rent a pontoon boat from Aquatic Adventures. Since pontoon boats are made to hold larger groups you can split the costs with another family bringing the price down. Pack a cooler with a picnic to enjoy on this pristine island for a great day in the sun. I have also rented waverunners from this company and had a wonderful time- just be sure you listen to the areas you are not allowed in. I got my jet-ski stuck on a rock because I was not in a permitted area. So pay attention!
