Buddy Owen is a conch, and there aren't many left. He knows everything about making the truly local delicacies - you won't find these recipes ANYWHERE else. They are total originals - the Square Grouper sandwich, Beans and Rice with Green Olives and Onions... and, of course, Bubbaque! This is probably an illegal restaurant, but no one around here would DARE make a move to move Buddy! A real island classic - don't miss it!

B.O.s is one of the best restaurants on the island!! I have been to Key West several times and I'm sorry to say that my 1st trip to B.O.s was last year. It was amazing! We will be returning in the Spring of 09 and I can't wait to eat @ B.O.s again! The atmosphere is true Key West, the beer is ice cold, and the fish is so fresh! There are 2 places I will always eat at while on the island: B.O.s and Blue Heaven!

Some places have great hole-in-the-wall restaurants. Key West has a place that has no walls, and a lot of holes (and trap floats, and simple tables and chairs and nothing but character). And it is GREAT. Once you've eaten here, you'll wonder why simple food gets so complicated sometimes, when it doesn't have to. When fish is carried in whole off the fishing boats, filleted and dusted with a little cornmeal flour and lightly fried...well, it doesn't get better than that, and that's B.O.'s. It's bare-bones, honest, local and utterly without pretension. You know when you walk into a "fish shack" that's been prettied up for the tourists and is trying hard to look like it's weathered with the times. B.O.'s is the inspiration, but they don't want to be pretty: they want to be good food. NO CREDIT CARDS, BRING CASH. Special attention to Friday afternoons when there's live music and locals sucking down cold bottled beers. If you're lucky, B.O. (that's Buddy Owens) will be there himself. Ask him a question about being a local, or just being Buddy, and you're in for a treat. There is nothing he doesn't have thoughts about, and he likes to chat. Enjoy! This could be your favorite stop.

Along with San Francisco, New York, and New Orleans, Key West is one of the best places in the country to catch a good meal (pardon the pun). We all have a different palate, and we often choose our dining place based on our preferences. I happen to have a simple palate, therefore, I happen to love the taste of a good fresh fish sandwich. And when it comes to fresh fish, B.O.'s Fish Wagon is the place to get it. There are other places to get fresh fish on the Island, but the square grouper sandwich can't be beat. I would recommend B.O.'s hand pulled fires to go with any menu choice. You can't beat it.

How does B.O. do it? A small shack of a restaurant that has great service and good food. I mean the food is great! The fish is fresh and tasty. Even my salad was fresh. It's amazing. I ate there more than once -- yes I went back. I think the cooks should get all the credit. These guys are in this tiny little space and they laugh and cut up with the customers and the service is fast! It's a really great place. You feel like you're eating with family in your backyard. I know anyone who stops by B.O. once will become a regular. Great job guys! Thank you.
