To be fair to Hammerhead Fred's, I dined there once about 30 minutes before closing time, and it was obvious that the waitstaff wanted to head out ASAP. The oysters were alright, but listed at market price and hence were a expensive, but my Shrimp Po-Boy was plentiful. All in all, it's standard fare with a theme, and it's sure to please families.

I seem to be the minority here, but we were not impressed at all. We had never been here before, but it was a Sunday night during October, and all of our favorite places were closed. We decided to try it based on the good reviews. It wasnt that it was bad, it just wasnt very good, especially for $60. It appears to be the place for drinks and appetizers, and that is not what we ordered. I ordered sauteed shrimp and scallops, hubby had grouper, kids had burger and chicken tenders. It filled our tummies, but that was about all. I wont be back, there are too many other GREAT places to eat in PCB for that kind of money.

We where in Panama City Beach from 8-25 thru 9-5.We eat there twice.They where 6 of us.The first time the beer was HOT,and they did not bring my salad out till I had my dinner.The waitress forgot.Hello that's why you have a pad.Oh wait a minute she did'nt write our order down.The second time my brother inlaw made it plan,and simple we want COLD beer,and we got it.Our waiter had a pad to write down our order.Try there 3trier plate it comes with crab claws,and gator tail it was GREAT,and the bbq shimp with bacon it was GREAT.

This is a neat restaurant. They have their own menu of special cocktails and also they have great(and cheap) lunch specials. We tried the mahi mahi and it was really good(don't forget about the oysters)!

We eat here for the first time today (June 2007)- we had tried several times prior today but due to the long wait we had not stayed - we were excited that it worked out to go there today for lunch - well - everyone there was very rude - we had one person in our party that is VERY allergic to shell fish and we need help with the menu items (what was and wasn't cooked near the fist) - we have to do this at everywhere we eat - NO one would even try to help - My sister ate a salad only (small house salad that was $7) - No one even seemed concerned even though we were VERY disapointed - I would go as far as to say they were rude - We asked for a manager but no manager came by - WE WILL NOT EAT HERE AGAIN

My husband and I tried Freds for the first time this year, and it immediately became a favorite. We had the sampler and it was fantastic; I had a burger and a COLD beer and while I don't remember what seafood item he ordered, I do we were left wondering why we had never been there before.

This used to be our favorite place to eat. We would eat there 2-3 times a trip and usually made it down to PCB 3-5 times during the spring/summer season. Well not anymore…..we will not be back!!!! We were down the weekend of March 31-April 2 with 5 friends, 3 of which had never been here but had heard us bragging on it. When we got there we put our name on the list and got our buzzer. We were told it would be a little over an hour wait. We expected this and didn't mind and got some drinks from the bar. Time passed and our buzzer went off. When we made it to the hostess, she said the table was already taken. Another group had gone up there when "our" name was called and told them they were us. The hostess was very apologetic and got the manager. We complained and he said there was nothing he could do about it that we would just have to wait until another table for 7 became available. It was obvious that he didn't care about us and we told him so. Since we've been home we have told all our friends that normally go there about our experience and they don't plan on going back either. I know we won't hurt their business by not coming back but it is the principle of it. I was very disappointed in the way it was handled.

Great lunch! We had the appetizer sampler (buffalo shrimp, fried crab claws, fried gator tail and something else?) that was delish! I had the fried grouper sandwich, which was awesome, and everyone that ate with us was pleased with their meal. Fun atmosphere. Tables outside if the weather is nice. I recommend this place for a great lunch!

We first tried this place about 4 years or so and it has become a regular place to eat on our vacation. This year I had the Mahi Mahi and it was so good my kids even liked it. THe food is good and the wait was not too bad this year. Wait staff was very good.

Hammerhead Fred's was my all time favorite place last year. Me and all of my girlfriends would get dressed up and go dance the night away! We went on a foam night as well as a regular night and let me tell you it was wild!!! You have to visit Hammerhead Fred's, trust me!!!
