Shuckum's is family owned and operated with full of character. The oysters are great and many other items are good too. They have a new chef from Atlanta and he's good! Check out their live music next door too.

Been going since 1985. This trip (June 2010) found very very small oysters and at $9 a dozen. Dusty's had better and bigger at $6 and Hunt's were better at under $5 a dozen. No more Shuckum's for me.......!!!!

An old favorite struggling economically, 2008-04-18

Shuckums has been a favorite of my family's since the 1980's, and the quality of the oysters and food remains strong despite ever-rising menu prices. The atmosphere is still as intimate and local as it gets, but the last several times we've gone here our waitress has seemed aggravated and once even verbally complained that we had not left her much of a tip (roughly 15%). I'm not one who usually uses prices and economic reasons as a restaurant complaint, but something seems fishy at Shuckums, despite the food (especially the oysters) remaining of high quality.

Shuckums always has the coldest and freshest oysters available on the Gulf Coast -- this is a down home, fill up your belly kinda place -- with awesome food and great service!

If you love oysters, this is your place! Oyster shooters, on the half shell, fixed about any way you can imagine (baked with cheese & jalapenos my personal favorite!) A fun and funky place, good service, good basic beach joint food!
