What a lovely location. Made reservations and was greeted elegantly at door by hostess and seated at the ocean view section of the restaurant. Our visit to restaurant was on Sept 16th (friday). We live in Key West and both my boyfriend and I had not eaten at either restaurant and wanted to try it out. I ordered a half order of the Fettuccini Alfredo and had mushrooms added and also ordered a half order of the Alfredo Puttanesca. I had the dilemna of trying to try to decide one or the other and the waitress was kind to tell us about the half order option. It thrilled me to know I could have both. My boyfriend order half orders of the Gnocchi al Gorgonzola and the Tortellini alla Romana. Every single meal with delicious and I absolutely loved the fact that when my glass water when getting low their was a staff member coming to our table to refill the glass. If you like in Key West or just visiting and want a very relaxed and pampered meal. This is a place I recommend you go

At first, La Trattoria may look like a "fancy" restaurant you might think you aren't dressed for, or won't welcome your kids, or will be too expensive. In fact, this really is more in the spirit of a real trattoria in Italy. Everyone's welcome, it feels familial and inviting, and you can eat everything from a simple plate of pasta (some of which are so filling, they're all you can handle!) to a multi-course meal. I rate their vongole (linguine with clam sauce) as the best around. Also love the penne with crabmeat and, believe it or not, the escargot are amazing, too. I've heard many a time about the lamb, too. Italian-owned, a many time winner of favorite local Italian restaurant, and very comfortable to be in, that's La Trattoria
