A classic old Florida fish house owned and operated by a fisherman and his family. It just doesn't get more real than this. They catch 'em and cook 'em and serve 'em with downhome southern sides - like cheese grits and cole slaw. The prices are right, the oysters are 100% Apalachicola beauties, and the service is full of personality and warmth. Simply one of the best in the Southeast.

My family and I spend a week in PCB last OCT 08. We planned our trip last minute, and on a shoestring budget. We ate at the condo every night except our last. We took the short trip back over the bridge to the Capt's Table after reading some of the reviews and asking several people at the condo. WE WERE BLOWN AWAY! I had the grilled Scamp. OMG Everyone loved what they ordered. We will be back!

I wanted something special for my family of 4 (children 12 & 7).The food is good, but the portions will leave you wandering what you just spent $100.00 for. If your on a budget, I wouldn't suggest The Capt. Table. If money doesn't matter to you then enjoy, the food is good. Just order double. budgetguy Atlanta

A quick trip over the Hathaway Bridge to St. Andrews Bay reveals the small, unassuming Captain's Table, which just happens to offer some of the freshest seafood in the area. This place represents the antithesis to chain seafood fare like Montego Bay and Bonefish Grill, and it's a very goos thing. The raw dozens, fresh fish, and even standard sides like hush puppies and cheese grits are all well-prepared, and the crowd is anything but touristy. A great find that's growing in popularity yearly.

As the grand-daughter of an old shrimper, I've grown up with my fair share of mouth-watering, fresh seafood (we don't eat anything that wasn't caught that day or the day before). Capt.'s Table is absolutely the closest thing I can get to my grandpa's fish fry. Their mullet is my personal favorite, but my husband is a sucker for a dozen oysters and their spicy peel-n-eat shrimp. Just a tip from a Southern seafood-eater: always get the cheese grits with your fried fish. It's unorthodox to eat fried fish any other way.

Red Snapper is hard to come by at most places, but Capt Table had it on the menu. It was the freshest snapper I have ever had. Hubby had grouper throats, and said they were very fresh and tasty. Good place for plain, fresh seafood with no frills. The slaw and hushpuppies were great, too. The batter is pretty heavy, though, if you are not into fried food.

This restaurant has been around Panama City basically forever. When the local boat captains want to eat fresh seafood this is where they come. I have lived in Panama City for a long time (since 80') and had heard about this restaurant from everyone but never took the time to go. My son-in-law talked me into taking the family recently, and I was very pleasantly surprised. There were people sitting outside the restaurant, and when I walked inside, the foyer was packed. Literally standing room only. It was hot and the ceiling fans were running on high, the staff was giving away free cold drinks and still the people were coming. After about a 30-minute wait we were seated. The menu was basic and every local seafood you can think of were on the menu, fresh. I had heard about the grouper cheeks (yes they are really cheeks) and the waitress informed us that there were only two orders available (they are really hard to come by and really are a delicacy). So my son and I order the last two cheek dinners and quick as a flash (about 15 minutes) they were brought to the table hot and steaming. The taste was AMAZING, light and delicate with a wonderful after taste that I wont forget for a long time. Even considering the wait and the heat (it is a hot summer here) I'll be going back very soon.

This place is one of those that speaks all for itself. If you want to find a place where the local politicians meet and eat; if you want a place where mom and pop go to eat fresh seafood; if you are looking for a place where the kids even like the food; then you need to drop by the Capt's Table and I promise you, you'll be back again and again. It doesn't get any more local than this.

Had some relatives visiting from Illinois. Took them to the Capt.'s Table and tried a little of everything. Grouper throats, fried shrimp, oysters, devil crab. You name it, we had it. As usual the food was excellent. If you want fresh seafood cooked the way it should be, go to the Capt.'s Table. It is always, always a good dining experience.

It is THE seafood restaurant in the PCB area. We go several times per week whenever we are there. The food and atmosphere simply can't be surpassed by any of the tourist-type restaurants on the beach. FRESH, tasty seafood without any frills...just go there for an old Florida experience.

This is it: the one family restaurant you must, must try. No one is pretending here. When you are gone, they will continue exactly how you found them: you are just lucky to have a sip or two of local living. STep back in time, step out of your identity, and eat among locals, fishermen, people who live and eat this way always. A true cultural experience, and lots of juicy fish with the tastiest hushpuppies ever.

This place truly is as good as eating at a Capt.'s Table. I grew up eating the fresh fish and seafood my father caught in St. Andrew's Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Believe me when I say that this is the only place that's even comparable to his cooking. When I want a taste of home, this is where I go.

One of my top 5 favorite restaurants on the Gulf Coast - this is what a great old-fashioned Florida Fish House should be - outstanding FRESH FRESH FRESH fish because they catch their own, with their own boats... awesome cheese grits... down-home southern hospitality - great old building in cool and historic St. Andrews.
