Corvettes in Paradise

Key West, FL -

Sleek, classy and unique cars from all over the United States will motor down the Florida Keys' Overseas Highway for a gathering that celebrates Americans' love affair with fast cars. The 12th annual Corvettes in Paradise, featuring as many as 315 eye-popping classic and modern vehicles, will assemble at Holiday Isle Beach Resorts and Marina, mile marker 84 Oceanside in Islamorada. Viewing the 'Vettes is free.

Corvettes in Paradise

Event attendees can examine a replica of the rare 1963 Grand Sport and the special ZR-1 Corvette and meet representatives of "Vette Vues," the magazine of Corvette enthusiasts. "Corvette From the Inside" author Dave McLellan, who served as chief engineer at Chevrolet from 1975 to 1992 and wrote about the car's 50-year development history, will sign books, posters, hats and T-shirts for Corvette connoisseurs.

The Florida Keys Corvette Club, formed in 1992, hosts the 'Vette display and an annual automotive beauty contest offering first- through third-place awards in 20 classes. Only the first 120 cars to register will be judged, so pre-registration is encouraged.

A portion of the event's proceeds benefits scholarships for Keys graduating seniors who have an interest in an automotive vocation.
