Cuban-American Heritage Festival
Key West, FL -The vibrant cultural connection between Key West and Cuba, which dates back more than 150 years, will be celebrated during the island city's Annual Cuban American Heritage Festival.

The family-oriented festival honors Key West's rich and colorful Cuban heritage with events including a cigar dinner, a symposium, a fiesta for children, a Latin jazz concert and an exhibition of folk art by a Cuban-American master. The liveliest annual event is the coast-to-coast conga line that draws hundreds of revelers in Cuban dress who conga from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico…that’s a whole lotta Conga!
Located just 90 miles from Cuba, Key West was the site of nearly 150 cigar factories in the mid - late 1800s, when the island city welcomed thousands of Cuban immigrants seeking greater personal and political freedom. These individuals brought their skills, cuisine and culture with them to Key West.
The festival raises awareness of the Cuban-American culture, and the important historical role Key West and the Florida Keys played in its evolution.
