Marathon Seafood Festival
By Glenn Shaefer
Key West, FL -Planning on being in the Florida Keys in March? You won’t want to miss one of the biggest seafood festivals anywhere in the islands! Sample the freshest Florida lobster and there’s plenty for everyone at the Annual Marathon Seafood Festival March 15th and 16th.

The festival celebrates more than 30 years of fishing history. Along with all the tasty dishes made from the local fisheries you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy some great toe tapping hand clapping live entertainment!
Look for that treasure in the nautical flea market and you’ll also find a boat show, arts and crafts, experimental and antique airplanes and tons of that great fresh seafood. Enjoy the bounties of the waters that surround the Florida Keys. Feast on lobster, stone crab claws, dolphin, grouper and snapper. Did we miss any? Also on the menu you will find locally made conch chowder, conch fritters and of course fresh key lime pie and other homemade desserts.
In addition, the middle keys chapter of the experimental aircraft association will co sponsor a fly-in of unique and vintage airplanes at the Marathon Airport. Visitors are invited to watch the planes fly and land then get a close-up look at the unusual and rare aircraft. Shuttle services will run from the event field to the Marathon Airport during the festival. Come hungry to the Annual Marathon Seafood Festival Saturday March 15th and 16th at the Marathon Community Park on 36th St.
