International Sailing Regatta
January 21 - 25, 2008
Where: Offshore Key West

The roster of previous and participating sailing professionals includes the likes of Kevin Burnham, an American gold medalist at the Athens Olympics; Canadian silver medalist Ross MacDonald and America's Cup campaigners James Spithill of Australia and John Cutler of New Zealand.

According to regatta organizers, the event's primary attractions for race teams include the opportunity to sail in warm emerald waters and the high level of competition -- as well as the nighttime diversions available only in Key West.

Competitors will race on four courses set over a 10-mile stretch of the Atlantic Ocean that lies just off Key West's shore and inside North America's only living coral barrier reef, which parallels the Florida Keys.

Key West's Historic Seaport, stretching along the island's Gulf of Mexico shoreline, will be the headquarters for the racing boats and their crews as it has been in past years. Sailing aficionados can mingle with crews at the docks before and after the racing action, and book seats on spectator boats at the site.

Spectators who prefer to watch the races on land can choose from prime viewing spots including the island's Atlantic-front restaurants, resorts and beaches. For more information e-mail KWinfo@Premiere-Racing.com or call 781.639.9545. End of Article
