Key West Songwriters' Festival

Key West, FL -

The critically acclaimed festival gives audiences a chance to hear some of the hottest songs in the country, performed with the passion that only their writers can give them. In more than a dozen concert offerings at bars, restaurants and waterfront locales, the writers will sing and play their hits, debut new music and share the stories behind their songs.

Songwriter's Festival

"The festival is the buzz in Nashville now -- all the writers want to come down," said event organizer Charlie Bauer, of Hog's Breath Saloon. "Part of it is that there have been so many good writers down here and the others want to follow in their footsteps."

Key West Songwriters' Festival
April 30th - May 4th, 2008
Where: Hog's Breath Saloon and other locations

In the past artists have included: Jeffrey Steele, Hugh Prestwood, Bob DiPiero, Scotty Emerick, Wendell Mobley, Jake Owen, Jimmy Ritchey, Chuck Cannon, Chuck Jones, Cliff Cody, Brian Davis, Arlis Albritton, Morgane Hayes, Jen Schott, Lila McCann, Courtney Dashe, D-Tox, Chad Warrix, Kylie Sackley, Lee Brice, Billy Joe Walker, Jr., Jerrod Neimann, Bobby Pinson, Rivers Rutherford, Brett James, Craig Wiseman, Chris Stapleton, and many, many more...

"Because of the laid-back Key West atmosphere, writers have traditionally found Key West to be an ideal place to write. Many hits have been written here or finished here and then taken to all points north where they're produced and ultimately heard on the radio or CD's round the world."

The festival has something for everyone: 2 stages of music, 250 artists in the artist market, an artist demonstration station, a youth art competition & exhibition, Kid's Village, canine disc dog contest, rock climbing wall, and lots and lots of delicious food!

The festival highlights are traditionally the Friday and Saturday night performances in the upstairs Writer's Room at Hog's Breath Saloon, 400 Front St. With the first set scheduled for 8 pm and the second for 9 pm both nights, the concerts will present the headlining performers in a small, relaxed Nashville-style setting. Because the roster changes each night, festival organizers encourage music fans to attend both events.

The Key West Songwriters' Festival is supported by international performing rights organizations ASCAP and BMI, as well as by the Nashville Songwriters Association International.

Hog's Breath Saloon has always been a leading sponsor in this Key West event and welcomes all songwriters and supporters of original music to the Hog's Breath Saloon and the festival.
