Tropical Fruit Fiesta
Key West, FL -Residents and visitors can experience first-hand the wonders of many different kinds of tropical fruit trees and fruit. Come to the Fruit Fiesta to see and taste many kinds of fruit and learn how to grow them. Hundreds of top-quality fruit trees will be available for purchase, including some rare and unusual trees raised by hand.

The annual fiesta is produced by the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences in cooperation with Monroe County Extension. There will be three fun activities for kids, including planting a pineapple for the home garden, having a roll at the orange-pineapple bowl, and writing secret messages on tree leaves. Youth and adults in 4-H clubs will transport trees to the parking area for people who need help.
Experts from UF and Fairchild Tropical Gardens in Miami will be giving lectures and will be available to answer horticultural questions. Highlighting the event will be the popular homegrown fruit contest. Three judges will decide who has grown the tastiest fruit and prizes will be awarded.
There will also be vendors with gardening & fruit related items, gardening books for sale, educational materials, food, ice-cream, informational displays from local agencies and more!
