Key West Writers' Conference
Key West, FL -Nationally acclaimed authors including Dennis Lehane will share their insights on writing at the 2007 Florida International University/Key West Writers' Conference to be held at the Pier House Resort & Caribbean Spa in Old Town Key West.

Sponsored by the creative writing program at FIU, the conference is designed for writers who want to hone their craft under the tutelage of leading authors, agents and editors. The multifaceted schedule allows participants to enroll in a variety of four-day class sessions taught by eminent writers and develop their skills by attending agent and editor round-tables, freelancing seminars, nightly readings and other events. Two mornings of directed writing exercises round out the schedule.
The conference's keynote speaker will be Dennis Lehane, author of seven novels including the recent "Shutter Island" and the "New York Times" bestseller "Mystic River," which was made into an Academy Award-winning film directed by Clint Eastwood.
Scheduled topics for discussion and classes include adventures in freelancing, the contemporary publishing scene, the revision process, creative nonfiction, the memoir, fiction and the novel, poetry, and screenplays, thrillers and bestsellers.
