Fantasy Fest in Key West: A trip through the looking glass...
Key West, FL -While so many locations throughout our country are wrapping up what they call their summer season, one of my favorite locations, Key West, is gearing up to kick their season off in whimsical style. Sure, Key West is a summer destination for thousands of international and cruise travelers every week, but things truly come alive as the autumn weather falls upon the Keys.
For newcomers to the Keys, Fall still has all of favorite activities: scuba and snorkeling, fishing, drinking, eating, people watching, and incredibly talented musicians….but the pre-winter months add in delicious stone crabs and a little party they like to call Fantasy Fest!
Bring your beads…and
your boobs…and prepare to see things you have only dreamt about.
This year Fantasy Fest will introduce visitors to gnomes, toads and white rabbit tea parties…a cocktail enhanced journey through the looking glass if you will. Here are some of the highlights and important dates you will not want to make note of:
August 24, 2007 6-8PM – Join the candidates at the Southernmost House as they kick off their campaigns. With colorful King and Queen candidates, it’s certain to be one election that everyone seems to enjoy the polls…No Hanging Chads here, just great people kicking off their campaigns for a great cause!
October 19, 2007 – The Official Coronation Ball. Take a look at the past two years of fun Key TV and Aids Help have had in crowning the Kings and Queens of Fantasy Fest. This is the kick-off party for Fantasy Fest, and judging from past years, it’s a party you do not want to miss. Singing, dancing, skits, theatrics; all of this come together culminating in the announcement of the 2007 King and Queen of Fantasy Fest.
October 27, 2007 – The Captain Morgan Fantasy Fest Parade. This is the big one! Covering most of the major roads of Old Town, expect to join over 75,000 partiers as you watch float after float of Fantasy Fest craziness! Bring your beads…and your boobs…and prepare to see things you have only dreamt about.
Are those the only good parties?!? Certainly
not, but the great thing about Fantasy Fest is that there is so much to
do and choose from that you can personalize the experience to your likings.
From the famed Red Party to a love for plaid, tattoos, headdresses, leather – any
and ever fetish is fun at Fantasy Fest. Take a few minutes and look over
