GEORGETOWN CITY AND PLANTATION
RIVER TOUR
Monday, August 25, 2003 Approximately 7 hours
This enchanting land of plantations and live oaks was first founded by the Spanish
in 1526 and re-found by the English several hundred years later. Your tour begins
with a cruise up the peaceful rivers past Plantation mansions, abandoned rice
fields and majestic old oaks. Step into the past where Mother Nature hides her
treasures. After lunch in the historic seaport city of Georgetown, you'll have
time to browse the shops on the waterfront.
SOUTHPORT HISTORIC COASTAL VILLAGE
TOUR
Tuesday - August 26, 2003 Approximately 8 ½ Hours
The finest example of a Victorian coastal town in North Carolina quietly waits
at land's end, on the waterfront where the rolling Cape Fear River meets the
mighty Atlantic. A small town quaintness still exists in this quiet, sleepy place
where giant live oak trees line the winding streets, and rocking chairs beckon
from front porches. Southport offers a refreshing step back in time, and remains
one of the few towns in the state that has successfully retained its late 19th
century appearance. You'll see it evident today in the stately riverfront residence,
historic churches and romantic coastal cottages. We'll also tour the Franklin
Square Gallery and enjoy lunch at the rustic Ships Chandler overlooking the Cape
Fear River. There will be time for shopping at the many antique and gift shops.
Finally, we've arranged for a wine tasting at Silver Coast Winery in Ocean Isle,
North Carolina. You will enjoy a winery tour, wine tasting with cheese and crackers
in the art gallery of the winery.
CHARLESTON SHOPPING AND CARRIAGE
TOUR
Wednesday, August 27, 2003 Approximately 9 Hours
Your tour begins with a Carriage Ride through the old-walled city area; see the
world famous Battery Waterfront district and lovely gardens framing homes dating
prior to the Revolutionary War. Next, you will have lunch at one of the many
well-known restaurants in the area. Afterward, we have planned an expanded shopping
trip to Charleston's famous Public Market Area where you will be "on your
own" for two hours of leisurely shopping and browsing through these wonderful
open air shops, galleries and antique shops.

history of the original rice plantations that now provides the setting for such
a pleasing display of outstanding sculpture. Visit ALL SAINTS WACCAMAW PARISH
CEMETERY (circa 1739), once the wealthiest parish along the Waccamaw. Many of
its members played decisive roles in shaping the political history of our Country.
