The Order is a fraternal organization that represents the Italian Heritage in America. It's primary members are of Italian descent, or who have ties by birth, or by marriage.

Our lodge was incorporated as a non-profit organization on September 12, 1992, after having obtained our charter on June 11, 1992. Our lodge is also recognized as having been the first continuously chartered OSIA Lodge in the State of South Carolina.

The national organization, through its anti-defamation arm, The Committee for Social Justice fights prejudice and discrimination, promotes the contributions of Americans of Italian descent and works with other ethnic organizations and special interest groups to encourage harmony among the many diverse groups in our society. The Sons of Italy Foundation, established through a trust agreement in 1959 has contributed tens of millions of dollars to numerous philanthropic causes, including medical research, educational scholarships, disaster relief projects, and cultural preservation programs.

Our Lodge regularly contributes to the following charities: A.R.C. of Horry County, Georgetown Outreach Program, YMCA of Myrtle Beach and the National Kidney Transplant Fund (for Dan Freda).

Membership in our Lodge is open to men and women who have ties to our Italian Heritage, or to those interested in joining our fraternity merely to have ties with other Lodge members, but who do not have any direct Italian affiliation. We have an "At-Large" membership category for those individuals who spend less than 6 months in our immediate area, or those who reside more than 60 miles from Myrtle Beach.
