4th of July is Grand on the Strand!

Myrtle Beach, SC -

The Grand Strand will celebrate this 4th of July with fireworks displays, live entertainment, sports tournaments, great kid's activities, and military spectacles. Why not be a part of the fun and pay tribute to our nation's Independence...no matter where you are, there's something going on! The long strip of Coastal Carolina centered on Myrtle Beach has a long history of fantastic Fourth of July celebrations, and this year will be no exception!

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

When the time comes for a BIG parade to celebrate the 4th...around here, everybody knows to head for the water and the 18th Annual Murrells Inlet 4th of July Boat Parade! The parade takes place at high tide and this year the parade celebrates freedom more than ever. Each year the parade has become bigger and better. Last year there were over 125 boat entrants and that doesn't even include all the boats who just jumped in for fun! Murrells Inlet really knows how to throw a parade...and it's one of the most fun and inexpensive ways for the entire family to celebrate the FOURTH OF JULY! For more information, check out MurrellsInletSC.com.

Conway also has a variety of family oriented activities planned in Schouler Park throughout the day, beginning at 3pm. The North Conway Community Center will be there offering the traditional kids games along with a few new ones to add to the fun. In addition, the Speed Trap Baseball Pitching game is scheduled along with face painting and various other activities.

Area visitors and residents are invited to participate in Conway’s Independence Day Parade . The parade will start from John Fuller School at 5pm and end in Schouler Park. The parade route will travel south along Main Street to the first turn at Schouler Park just after the traffic light into Norcross Circle. The procession will proceed around Norcross Circle exiting next to the Community Center and turning left back on to Main Street returning to Pine Street.

If you line up to watch the parade, be sure to stand along Norcross Circle on the inside edge of the Park so you won’t miss anything! At the conclusion of the parade there will be a brief, formal Independence Day Ceremony in the park. It’s a holiday, and no one should have to cook - so food will be available all day and evening starting at Noon. No matter what your appetite may be you’ll be able to quiet the ‘hungries’ by taking advantage of the delicious menus put together by the valley's fun-loving non-profits.

Count on lots of live entertainment, strolling street performers, water skiing demonstrations and much, much more! All the events are free and open to the public. For more information call 800.386.4662 or check out their website at www.BroadwayAtTheBeach.com.
