Myrtle Beach Lifestyle Expo
We all have a similiar dream for our "golden years." Retirement to somewhere warm, inviting, and full of the activities we enjoy. It's no wonder, then, that Myrtle Beach has become something of a Mecca to our older citizens.

Projections indicate that as of the end of 2000, Myrtle Beach will be home to over 62,000 residents over the age of 50. Horry County itself has seen an increase of over 100% in the number of retirees in the past decade. These numbers reflect an obvious fact- Myrtle Beach has the qualities that pulls retirees in, and keeps them.
The Lifestyles Show, a retirement expo, will be held at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center January 26-27, 2001.
Of course, Myrtle Beach's climate is probably the most important factor in its phenomenal retirement-age growth. Next in importance has to be the coastal environment. The ocean provides endless opportunities for entertainment, as well as beautiful vistas. But it's the things Myrtle Beach has done itself to attract new residents and visitors that keeps older folks moving here.
It's the restaurants- over 1,500 at last count. It's the golfing- Myrtle Beach is home to dozens and dozens of golf courses, including some of the world's best. It's the dinner theaters, the shopping, the aquariums, the Shag... in short, it's everything that we've come to associate with the Grand Strand.
It is with our senior citizens in mind that the Lifestyles Show, a retirement expo, will be held at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center January 26-27, 2001. This two-day extravaganza annually attracts around 10,000 people. Over 140 exhibitors will offer cooking demonstrations, health, fitness, fashion and beauty seminars, prizes, and live entertainment.
Myrtle Beach goes out of its way to welcome its newest citizens, and to accomodate them as they adjust to the "coastal lifestyle." The Expo is just one of a continuing series of events geared towards senior citizens. Check back to TripSmarter.com often to get the latest news on them.
Sponsored by Golden Times, the South Carolina magazine, the Lifestyles Expo will be held in the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, 2101 N. Oak Street. The Convention Center's Exhibit Hall has 100,000 square feet of space, an 18,000 square foot Grand Ballroom, twenty meeting rooms, and over 1,400 parking spaces.
