Myrtle Beach Marathon

Myrtle Beach, SC -

Grab your running shoes, your sunblock and race to Myrtle Beach for the Myrtle Beach Marathon, Marathon Relay and One Mile Family Fun Run. Race day is Saturday 17th February, 2001, and proceeds benefit the Leukemia-Lymphona Society and various local schools.

Myrtle Beach - The Grand Strand

The various types of races are the perfect way to introduce the family to the joys of running and of a healthy lifestyle. There's a full Marathon for those who are up to the challenge, a Marathon Relay for folks who aren't quite ready for a full race, and a Family Fun Run for the rest of us!

Free and open to the public, the Expo will feature many of the event sponsors, plus vendors with running-related products and general information about the race and Myrtle Beach.

The fun and festivities begin on Thursday, February 15, 2001 with the Marathon Exposition at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront on South Ocean Blvd. From 5-9pm, and again on Saturday from 11-9pm, the Expo will be the place to pick up your race Packet and to sign up for the Family Fun Run.

Free and open to the public, the Expo will feature many of the event sponsors, plus vendors with running-related products and general information about the race and Myrtle Beach. If you're in town just for the Marathon, you'll do yourself a dis-service if you don't explore the Grand Strand, so stop by the Expo and get pointed in the right direction (or just browse our Myrtle Beach section!).

The race and Fun Run will be a long a flat, looping course with views of the Ocean, the "strip," and, since this is Myrtle Beach, golfcourses! This means that even if you're not a big runner, but you enjoy being outdoors with your friends and family on a beautiful day, the Myrtle Beach Marathon, Marathon Relay and One Mile Family Fun Run will have something to entertain you!
