It’s no secret that Mardi Gras has long been considered the world’s biggest party… an age-old tradition enjoyed by millions… and the 2012 Mardi Gras will be no exception! Only six years after that monstrous storm, New Orleans is primed, painted and prepared to play host to the world… and as always, “The show must go on!” In New Orleans, there’s no business like show business… especially when the show is… Mardi Gras!
Mardi Gras Season has officially started as of January 6, Twelfth Night or as one would learn in Catholic School – Ephiany. This annual event in New Orleans never gets old. Every year the Mardi Gras Krewes or parades come up with new themes and new floats.
Riverwalk Marketplace announces the entertainment for the 26th annual Lundi Gras at Spanish Plaza with Rex, King of Carnival. The free celebration will again include fireworks on the Mississippi River and musicial entertainment.
“Lundi Gras is a special event that deserves top-notch entertainment and this year’s musicians performing at Riverwalk’s Spanish Plaza will definitely make it a memorable event for our local and visiting revelers,” said Riverwalk Marketplace General Manager Frank Quinn in a news release Thursday.
This event is free and open to all ages.

Soul Fest is one of New Orleans biggest celebrations of African American history with over 21,000 people enjoying the festival in 2010.
Soul Fest is a two day family oriented event and will again in 2012 feature live musical performances by local Jazz, Rhythm & Blues, Gospel and Hip Hop artists. Soul food prepared by local restaurants and caterers will sold for purchase, as well as hand made arts and crafts.
