New Orleans Travel By Train
Three Amtrak trains pass through or terminate in New Orleans. Amtrak's Crescent departs for New York in the morning, and the inbound train arrives in the evening. The city of New Orleans arrives from Chicago around noon with the northbound train departing for Chicago mid-afternoon.
The Sunset Limited departs westbound for Los Angeles on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday after lunch. The eastbound train heads for Jacksonville and Miami on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
