Greetings Traveler,
The holiday season is here, and life is good in the South! There are
many exciting festivals and events coming up, including New Orleans'
famous Celebration
in the Oaks! It will be a very special time for everyone
who loves New Orleans (see our Christmas

and promises to be a better-than-ever freaky party! If you're planning

Wilma was no contest for the ever-vigilant
“Freaks, Geeks and Goddesses of Fantasy Fest… and apparently
it takes more than a hurricane to stop the island from hosting one of
the world’s most famous parties… even the “unfortunate
flooding” wasn’t enough to dampen the island spirit and each
and every Key Wester is ready to rock on! It wasn’t easy…
and it took a great deal of planning, but Fantasy fest 2005 was simply
rescheduled… and now December is going to be much more than a Holiday
Season!
Ready? Get set… let’s party from Wednesday, December 7 through
Sunday, December 11… Fantasy Fest is ON, the 27th Annual Festival
of “Freaks, Geeks and Goddesses… yet another delicious nut
cake romp through the realms of the ridiculous.
Think carnival characters and magical monsters…think Micro-soft
and Bill Gates “techies”…everything and everybody from
A to Z, even an alien or two, it’s all in the mix of BIG island
fun for 5 wonderful days! Fantasy Fest is a time to live out your fantasies
and put on your best “devil may care” attitude and dress up
or down…be alert or be weird…it just don’t matter cause
it’s time to Celebrate! Fantasy Fest is a WILMA Survivor…now
it’s time to dance to the music and turn the beat around. Hey…it’s
Key West and nobody needs an excuse…it may all stay in Vegas but
it all happens here!

Christmas Spirit In
Destin? You Bet!
Spending the holidays in Florida… or
even living in Florida for Thanksgiving and Christmas has many advantages
and locals never understand why so many people like to say, “It’s
impossible to get in the Christmas spirit in Florida!” Perhaps it’s
just a “conditioned response,” for nothing could be further
from the truth. Of course we all know about the weather and unless you’re
from picturesque Vermont, the warmer temperatures in Florida should appeal
to most everyone. Destin has a bit of the best of both worlds as the days
tend to be warm and the evenings are often cold enough for a small fire
outside on the deck or in a fire pit if you’re lucky enough to have
the perfect spot for one. But, it’s the wonderful Gulf of Mexico
