Oktoberfest

Panama City Beach, FL -

'Das Party.' Sour Kraut, Weiner schnitzel, lederhosen, and, of course, a polka version of Margaritaville. Oh yeah, and a lot of beer…it could only be one thing -Oktoberfest here at the beach.

Oktoberfest
October 3-4, 2008
Where: Downtown Panama City

Downtown businesses take the streets for an old-fashioned Stassenfest along Grace Avenue in the heart of Panama City, and just a few short blocks from the City Marina. The large food tents are concentrated near the bandstand, so while eating you can serenaded by local musicians of a variety of styles - including polka!

This is an all-day event, with plenty to keep the kids busy while the adults make their rounds of the various beer tents! Carnival rides, face-painting clowns and a host of other family activities are on offer.

You'll want to take a walk along Grace Avenue just so you can try the different beers offered by local brewers. You'll find some surprisingly good local brews.

Over 25,000 people will attend everything from the ceremonial tapping of the kegs to the various Oom-Pah-Pah band concerts. Families will appreciate the Festival during the day, while things get a little wilder at night. Come ondown, and make sure to practice your Funky Chicken! End of Article
