Ironman Triathlon
Panama City Beach, FL -If you're in the mood for something extreme, something just a little crazy, you need to catch the Isuzu Iron Man Triathlon on Panama City Beach. On November 4, 2000 hundreds of the world's fittest people will be on the Beach to compete in this grueling endurance test.

It starts with a nice 2.4 mile swim, which competitors have 2 hours and 20 minutes to complete, is followed by an incredible 112 mile- 8 hour bike route, and finishes with a full 26.2 mile marathon, which these maniacs have 7 hours to finish. This year's race will feature runners from over 30 countries this is a truly international event. It's also important as it's the last race of this season, and the first race that qualifies contestants for Ironman World Championship in Hawaii- the sport's premier event.
The best way to get to race is by shuttle bus. They'll be running from Wal-Mart's parking lot and Gulf Breeze Baptist Church.
The race also has a charity associated with it, with all proceeds going to local groups, mostly for youth sports. This is an event that not only promotes Panama City Beach, it benefits the Beach directly, too.
