Thumbs up In Biloxi, try out Schooners. You WILL be back

Hey, it's on the WAY to N.O. so I am posting here. If you go through this area get off on Hwy 90 and meander through Ocean Springs, my hometown, and stop in and see my cousins in the Tato-Nut Shop. Grab a dozen including some Persians and save for later AFTER lunch.

Now, hit the bridge to Biloxi and just off it, turn right and go to the end of the Street and on your left you will see mucho cars meaning you have made it to Schooners!

This place has been around forever and used to be Rosettis. THE best Po-Boys and that INCLUDES New Orleans. I grew up going here with ny Papa and stumbled across it again last week when I was in on business. Met Joe the owner who took it over in 1983 and in fact THEY were headed to Destin the next day. Small world.

Order ANY Po-Boy and get ready to be pleased. I got the shrimp/oyster combo and it comes out wrapped in paper to the table. The bread makes the sandwich. Coupled with a BOTTLE of Barqs root beer and you are in heaven. If the rest of the fare are as good as the Po-Boys then you are in good hands. The crowd tells me this is so.

This will hold you until NO city limits so you can have a Tato-Nut for dessert. You won't have to eat your first night in the quarter, more time for music.

Schooners gets my top grade for the food and laid back, old time experience from years ago in my youth. Way to go Joe!
