Had another nice visit here on Thursday night after a LONG week.......I mean a LONG week.
As usual, hit the sushi bar and sat at the bar this trip. Andy and the boys were busy doing their thing back there and than banter was casual and friendly as it always is. Andy and I talked a bit of real estate and about Kona coffee among other things. Andy, I'll be bringing you a bag of it soon my friend.
Anyway, I digress.
Alas, no Uni this evening but with so much to choose from who cares? I got a couple of rolls, Fried Grouper and Scallop. Starters include salad and Miso soup but I opted only for the salad with ginger dressing. Got a nice crisp Asahi to go with it all. Ordered a tempura app for a snack. A great small plate of shrimp and veggie tempura. ALWAYS hot and crisp, right out of the fryer. I rate it a 10 and it is a FAMILY fave. Ended up the meal with some conch and clam sashimi. Ilike the crunchy stuff. Andy presented it artfully with a small side of sunumono, octopus salad and then gave me a tatse of octopus neck I believe he said.
Did not get it this visit, BUT the green tea ice cream is a great way to end it up. The menus is varied but we always go tempura and sushi. Once every quarter or so, wespring forthe hibachi tables and my kids LOVE it. It is the ONLY way my daughter, the lovely Maurielle, will eat shrimp. I tend to go scallops, lobster and steak.
Mr.Chou runs a top notch outfit and is always clean, professional and nice to be recognized by the gang when you come in.
I am going to rate this dining experience with 8.75 for service and 9.5 for food. I am a hard grader too! ;0)
When you stop in the sushi bar, tell Andy Keith sent you.
