Icon6 Fridays on a Monday

The family went to Fridays on Monday evening to get out of the house from the recent move into Sandestin. Hoorah!!!!

Anyhoo. Decent crowd. A bit too dark in the place to see the menu to begin with.

Ordered the Spinach dip that came with too little chips BUT the dip itself was good. Creamy and tasty.

My Cape Codder was very watery and the wife's Clos Du Bois Chard was good. Service was very quick for drinks and drink refills. Poured a good stout ice tea as well.

Kids got Flat Iron Steak, I got the Strip and wife the Shrimp and Chicken entree. The steaks came with the much ballyhooed steak butters...we got the wild mushroom and the red pepper. The sides were mashed potatoes and you had to pay extra for salad, which I did not like. No bread brought to the table either to go with dinner. I only bring this up to compare to other like eateries in the area like Chili's and OCharleys. O'Charleys has the BEST rolls and steaks come with a tossed salad. Also a better selection of sides.

The butters came out ice cold and when we returned them to warm up the waiter told us they were still trying to figure out how to serve them. The red pepper butter was spicy, so be careful if you expect red bell pepper. GOOD though. The mushroom version was rich and tasted good BUT the presentation left something to be desired. Nice size tossed salad with blue cheese was tasty.

The wife' platter was good...shrimp with a lot of garlic scampi style.

My steak was ok but Longhorn does it better for same or less. Kids were passable also although O'Charleys gives you more for less.

My side of broccoli was hard enough to be on the grocery shelf but I ate most of it.

Service was good, food ok, prices a bit too high for me. 93.00 for this meal. O'Charleys is better value.

Overall I give this experience a B-. Sandwiches could bring down the tab but we wanted more. Not likely to be added to my Emerald Coast top twenty.
