GW FINS RE-OPENS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE ON NOVEMBER 25TH!

(November 8, 2005) NEW ORLEANS, LA – GW Fins, New Orleans’ premier seafood destination, re-opens for dinner in New Orleans’ French Quarter on Friday, November 25th at 5pm just in time to save you from another post-Thanksgiving left-over turkey sandwich! Reservations are strongly recommended and can be made by visiting www.gwfins.com. Prior to the November 25th re-opening, reservations can also be made by calling sister restaurant ZydeQue at 504.565.5520 for those without access to the internet; after the 25th, reservations can be made directly to GW Fins via telephone at 504.581.FINS (3467), again for those without internet access.

Local owners and operators Gary Wollerman and Executive Chef Tenney Flynn had originally anticipated an early December opening after assessing the damage following Hurricane Katrina. “We are thrilled to be able to open GW Fins’ doors ahead of schedule. It is a testament to our dedicated staff that we are able to do so. We are very much looking forward to serving our ‘regulars’ again at GW Fins,” stated Wollerman. He and Chef Tenney Flynn (named “2004 Chef of the Year” by New Orleans Magazine) also own and operate nearby favorite, ZydeQue Cajun Barbeque which was one of the first restaurants in the French Quarter to open its doors following Hurricane Katrina.

Chef Tenney Flynn’s full menu is available complete with the much craved Chilean Sea Bass, perennial favorite Wood-grilled Scallops, the ever popular Seafood Bouillabaisse and the never-ending, addictive drop biscuits! In keeping with the restaurant’s commitment to freshness, variety and to the guest, the menu at GW Fins changes daily. To make this possible, Chef Tenney’s day begins with calls to and from his purveyors in search of only the best seasonal seafood from local waters and around the globe. “We are of course very pleased to be featuring products from our local Louisiana fisheries such as Red Snapper, Gulf Shrimp, Cobia and Oysters, ” remarked Chef Flynn. The award-winning wine list boasting more than 100 wines, 70 of which are available by the glass is also available.

GW Fins is located in the heart of the historic French Quarter just off Bourbon Street, specifically at 808 Bienville Street. As of November 25th, the hours of operation are as follows: open for dinner only, Tuesday – Thursday, 5pm – 9pm and Friday through Saturday, 5pm until 10pm. The restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday. Reservations are strongly suggested and can be made by visiting www.gwfins.com. While the website remains the most efficient mode for reservations, following its November 25th opening, the restaurant can be contacted via phone at 504.581.FINS (3467). Validated parking is available at the U-Park lot located within a block of the restaurant at 700 Iberville Street, on the right-hand side between Bourbon and Royal Streets.
