Having to cancel our trip to PC Beach. We just can't bring ourselves to leave our pooch who is over 12 years old couped up in a cage at the vet for 9 days. He is having problems getting around, especially coming up the stairs. It was so traumatic for him last year when left that he didn't sleep for 3 nights after we got back and picked him up. Howled all night in the basement. His mama passed away back in January 2005 and last year was the first time he was boarded without her! My husband and I both have been feeling a little more guilt every day as it gets closer to time to vacation. We cannot bring him with us as he is 100 lbs and would totally cover up anywhere we rent with dog hair. Not to mention no pets allowed where we rent. We wouldn't be able to enjoy ourselves as we wouldn't feel we could leave him in the place we are staying and go when we wanted. I feel we are doing the right thing. It's a possibility we won't have him after this year, kidneys are slowly failing. What does everyone think???
