Here are some more tips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FOR MAKING THIS THREAD STICKY!!!!!!
Here are some more tips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1. The best way to get around in Panama is walk . It can take up to 2 and 1/2 hours to drive 4 miles on certain nights, plus by walking you get to meet all kinds of people plus sitting outside some of the clubs is better than inside.
2. Watch out for Beach undertow! The undertow along the beach can be very strong at times. Many people drown each year fighting the undertow. If you get pulled under, swim along with the flow of the current and work your way closer to shore as the current weakens. DON'T FIGHT THE UNDERTOW!! If you see red flags along the beach, stay out of the water for your own safety!
Pay attention to beach flags – these are warning flags that help you understand the surf. Know what the colors mean before you go. - Green – low hazard, conditions are favorable for swimming
- Yellow – medium hazard, exercise caution
- Red – high hazard, swim at your own risk
- Red overred – water closed to public use
- Purple – dangerous marine life is present
3. Bring your ID – if you plan to go out on the town, make sure you have your ID. Even if you are only 18 and do not plan to drink, you are not welcome in clubs until your ID is checked. Most clubs mark the 18-20 year olds with stamps or bracelets.
4. Most hotels, motels and condos in Panama City Beach require a damage or security deposit for registered users. Get a copy of the agreement sent to you prior to your stay and go over it with all room occupants. Most have policies against loud music/behavior, underage drinking, balcony climbing, fighting, unregistered people staying in the rooms, among others. Read these carefully, because you do not want to face eviction on your spring break .
5. Open alcoholic beverages are also not allowed within 50 feet of a public place. You are also not allowed to walk on sidewalks or in parking lots with beer in your hand, so make sure its in a cup or a GIANT Beer helmet with Water written on it!!!!!!!! It is against the law to take ANY glass container on the beach, so if you have liquer, put in in an empty plastic bottle or mix the drinks before you go onto the beach.
