A couple of locals recommended Emerald Grande hotel... they'll have fireworks... plus it's just a short stroll to many bars.. including Nightown across the street.

The place you see so many boats (at the bridge) is Crab Island... actually an underwater island. Check out this cool pic looking down from Emerald Grande:
