Hot, hot, hot here in Las Vegas. As I write, 90 degrees at 5:27 AM. However, keep in mind: 104 here is about the same as 90 on the Panhandle, when you factor in lack of humidity. Been in both situations on the same day on my last trip so I had a good comparison.
I'm long overdue for a visit to Emerald Coast! Been almost a year ... and that is WAY too long. I just looked through my last trip report posted at
http://forums.tripsmarter.com/forums...=&threadid=854 and got that need for the sugar white sands, waves, friendly people, and incredible dining options.
Been expanding my business which has kept me working here on the west coast, but keep promising myself that I'll spend a good 8-10 days later this fall down the panhandle way.
Might sneak a trip in to another Tripsmarter destination Myrtle Beach in a few weeks. Blame Stephanie who has made it look so inviting. Streaming Beach TV online should be made a crime ... it shows the rest of us how fun the Beach looks 24/7!
I was down in November (Destin) a couple years ago, and loved it. Moderate temperatures, no traffic, no wait in line anywhere, great deals on rooms, but still plenty to do and see, and plenty of good nightlife.
As with any tourist destination, the locals come out after the season is over and the locals are great to party with. If anyone is looking at coming down during Oct. or Nov. (my next target for visiting the Emerald Coast), do it. You'll love it.
I'll be loving it when I make it back down, and I'll write up another trip report on it!
